Hey there! My name is Chris Peterson. I’m an entrepreneur and real estate developer. I’ve built my share of homes and installed my share of heating devices. Home heating is one of my hobbies (‘pet peeves’ is what my friends call it).



My view is that everyone needs to heat their home, but many people do it poorly. And by doing it poorly, we put a huge financial burden upon ourselves and a huge environmental burden on our world. There is a huge difference in the energy required to heat an ultramodern, super efficient heating device and a 17th century traditional fireplace. Of course, traditional fireplaces with mantels can be beautiful works of art, too.



I think that there is room for both. A good fireplace is a work of art and should be viewed as such. Home heating is a necessity and should be done as efficiently as possible. This blog is all about living with both, recognizing the benefits of both, and how to mitigate one with the other when they conflict.
